Our client commissioned the refurbishment of an existing warehouse. This involved design and construction of a new exterior plus the creation of three sub-division units from the original one.

To create the sub-divisions, Woodvalley stripped back the existing industrial unit to its structural steel frame and ground slab. Ancillary office accommodation for each unit was built at ground and first floor levels. External works included replacement of the service access yard and new car parking facilities.

The outer building envelope consisted of a new composite panel roof and curtain walling system, with a new glazed façade. Mechanical and electrical services were renewed throughout, with new main services installed to support the sub-divided units.

A specific challenge on this project was the logistical planning involved in removing the large steel industrial cranes and associated track and framework, which were part of the original warehouse.

We collaborated closely with the design team to enable their careful removal and to ensure refurbishment of the warehouse in line with our client’s vision.
